Wolf’s Bane

Linoleum Block Print
I wanted to make a piece that would tie in to my fellow show artists and do a block print.
I find a lot of inspiration in wolves. Saying that makes me sound a little woo-woo, but I have always loved the thought that despite being beasts and predators, they are social. They have functioning groups and work together for the collective good.
In fact they are so socially adept that they gave rise to “Man’s Best Friend.”
There is some parallel in the perception of the wolf vs a dog and my perception of my position in social settings. I have never felt like I fit in just anywhere, like a dog might. I have some difficulty in many typical social settings that would be quite easy for most. I befriend people but I can be a lot to keep close.
Some of me doesn’t want to be close, but I am as prone to feelings of loneliness as anyone else.
I always appreciate my family, my friends, and my community for giving me an avenue to stay connected, even from a safe distance.
