A Memento is an object of sentimental value that evokes memories.
Each piece in this show explores the idea of memory, life, and dreams in relation to each of our lived experiences. Being human can be complicated; memories can have a range of emotions and images attached. Some are joyful, some are frightening. Many memories have a complex mix of feelings attached.
The understanding of life and memory is different for every living being. We, ourselves, can only move forward. By viewing and contemplating art and other perspectives we gain a fuller understanding of our world as we move through it. How we treat the world, and how the world treats us, colors how we see and remember things. It can be a healing comfort to remember that we only have a small window into a vast existence.
