Resin Dilophosaurus Skull, Lacquer

Working with modern bones had given me a new appreciation for fossils; estimates range from 1 in ten thousand to 1 in a million for a bone to become a fossil. For us to have discovered bones so old in restorable condition is truly remarkable.

Genuine dinosaur skulls are expensive and are usually completely fossilized, meaning they are minerals rather than bone. This sometimes makes them harder than modern bone. Between the rarity and the material difference, I thought it best to use replicas for this show.
