Through studying bone as a material, I have heard and concluded that bones are both fragile and very strong. There was a kernel of philosophy in the acceptance of both. Bones grow over our lifetimes to take a particular type of stress.

Over and over, variant over time.

When anything is subjected to a force that it isn’t built to resist, it can break. It can be destroyed. But until that moment, the bones support a creature over its lifetime.

And the special thing about living bone: it can heal. As long as we live, we can heal.
