Withdoll is by far one of my favorite companies for its balance of aesthetics and engineering. Both female and male bodies now have similar posability. Faces are fairly versatile and can compliment a wide variety of styles.
Improvements from the previous body model:
double-jointed knees
Thigh caps to allow for slouching
Thigh swivels
Ankles are stronger and less prone to cracking
Hands are now interchangeable hook-hands rather than magnetic
Some changes to the body type to be slightly more robust
Body profile looks more natural
Ruby is a slim MSD, an increasingly popular type of 1/4 scale doll that wears slightly smaller clothes than standard.
The JWD body is comparable in stature to Resinsoul’s 1/4 double jointed body, Souldoll’s new double jointed body, Dollzone, and Doll Leaves Teenage Dream bodies. She is a little taller than a minifee. Minifee clothes and some minifee shoes tend to fit this body.
Balance is good, the doll can easily stand on her own in a variety of poses. Flat and heel feet can be used at the same time; heel foot supports some weight on its own.
The joints themselves have a fairly low profile, so even when posing, clothes look fairly natural. Withdoll backsides are my favorite; the thigh cap fills the gap when sitting, so clothing doesnt get pulled into the joints.
Also worth noting that Withdoll joints are engineered VERY TIGHTLY, except for the neck and maybe the wrists, there isn’t much room or need to suede this doll.
